Description:Beginning any journey takes time dedication and sacrifice. The goal of any journey is to reach self-fulfillment and a certain level of greatness. Greatness that can be appreciated by everyone. The journey of Kenaz began in 1997 when the founders of Kenaz Dave and Mark originally formed a hard rock band called Red Dissent. After some line up changes Red Dissent evolved into a far more aggressive hardcore act in the process changing their name to Despise. After a brief stint of local success a string of personal struggles between the band members caused a split. After all of the problems from the past Dave and Mark decided to give it one more try. With some new melodies and ideas rushing through their heads they recruited Adam Lawrence Ethan Weeks and Jeff Simcock. This would be the foundation of Kenaz. After a year or so Jeff left to pursue new musical directions and the band began looking for the next singer in their journey. In the late summer of 2005 the band drafted an old high school friend and co-worker of Dave's a Fall River native named Keith Carvalho. A multi-talented musician Keith was the perfect catalyst for the band in their new direction. After over two years and eighteen live performances Ethan Weeks retired from Kenaz. No he didn't die in a bizarre gardening accident or spontaneously combust... His life was simply heading in a different direction. In June of 2006 Kenaz went on to draft Swansea Massachusetts native James Boyer. James was officially introduced as a member of Kenaz on Friday September 22nd 2006 at KC's Tap in Pawtucket Rhode Island. James is an animal. Kenaz has shared the stage with the best musicians in the New England rock scene. They take pride in their music and stage show and appreciate the support of all interested in thier music. In April 2007 Kenaz took an extended break in order to appreciate the finer things in life with the birth of Mark's daughter Sophia Dave's wedding & Keith's wedding. Kenaz will be back if full force in
